Don’t you always feel like this is a special day? I have nothing special planned for Leap Day for us, but it’s just a fun day.
Oooh, we’re going to have a good day today. I’ve been telling Jordan to get up and take his medicine and get dressed and I’m just getting this – “I don’t waaaaannnnnnaaaaa.” Fake tears. Come on child. He was all happy when he got up, took his shower, got out and now is a whiny butt. Great.
Speaking of his medicine, besides the antibiotic for his strep, he’s got a new medicine to take. His doctor called back and he wants him to start on adderal, 10 mgs, daily. So, that’s a new thing for him this morning. I’m hoping it helps him. I hate giving him medication for it, but I hate to watch him struggle with school too. We’ll see how this works out. He’s not thrilled about having to take it. He said, you told me I didn’t have to take it anymore. Well, no, I told you you didn’t have to take ritalin anymore. This isn’t ritalin. And Jordan, if it helps you concentrate, wouldn’t it be nice to not get in trouble for not getting your work done? Not miss recesses? Not miss art and music because you have class work to get caught up on. He just sat there.
Other than that we had a boring boring day yesterday. Pato brought us home food from this awesome restaurant called Tacos de Mariana. And they usually have the best Mexican food. It’s a Mexican restaurant that caters to Mexicans. Not a place like where Pato works that caters to we American’s that is more Tex than Mex. LOL Not that there is anything wrong with those restaurants. I eat there way too much too. But after visiting Mexico and eating the food there, loving it, and coming back home and having nothing half way close to real Mexican food, it’s nice that these restaurants are opening up.
We started eating the food though, and blech. I think Mariana has changed her recipes. LOL She just moved to a bigger location because she was getting way too crowded in her old restaurant as more Americans were finding out the secret that Mexicans here already knew. Mariana ROCKS! Pato said they were really busy. And she might not have taken the time with her food that she normally does. Well, that just stinks. But, my sope was good at least. Man, I’ll cry if that is how she is making her food now. Really blah. We’ll have to find another hole in the wall where we can get yummy pazoli.

Speaking of visiting Mexico. You guys really should get a chance to eat Pato’s mom’s tamales. Oh my gosh. They are so good! She makes a bunch of varieties, but my 2 favorites are her carne con salsa verde (it’s like shredded beef with green sauce.) and sugar tamales. They are pink. LOL She puts pink sugar in them. So good. I keep telling Pato to get the recipe for me. But he hasn’t yet. He told her last time she was up here that she needs to teach me how to do it, and we didn’t have time. Maybe next time.
No plans today other than to get this kit I have out of my head and into a zip for you all. LOL Just need to get started.
