Now, don’t any of you fall out of your chair! I found time to SCRAP! LOL Isn’t that the whole reason I design? For the love of scrapping? I just don’t do it enough! I’m thinking about doing all my pages with the same kit for once and turning it into a book to give to my mom, Pato’s mom, and one for us. I want them all to match though. But, I have my own kit, and 2 of Melissa Bennet’s gorgeous kits, it’s hard not to reach into her kit to play with! Ok, here are the layouts I did so far:
Oooh! This is Alyce on Christmas morning figuring out how to open her own presents. After the first couple, as long as we poked a hole in the paper, she was able to dig in and open the whole thing herself. Credits
This is my favorite one, I think cuz the photo takes up most of the page, and I love the picture. I was only able to take this picture twice to try and get a good one of the littlest ones in our family. Neither of them would take sitting still very well. But, this is my sister and Alyce and my nephew Carter. (Can you believe he is 9 months old!!!! It seems like I was just posting that he was born!) Credits
I have so many more pictures I want to scrap. Hopefully that will help with my mojo. Ya think?
Well, Pato is back to work today. I’ve been rather spoiled having him home for 3 days in row. It’s been nice to not always be the Go-To parent. LOL It’s been nice to say, dude, go tell your dad. LOL
Katiana just stomped off mad at me. “I never get to go to Webkinz World!” Yes, she got a pink poodle for Christmas. I thought it might be something that we could do together. Her sitting on my lap and learning how to play with her Webkinz. Christmas day I was able to get in and register both of the kids (Jordan just had to adopt a new Siberian husky because he already had a Webkinz account with his lion) after being booted a few times. Then last night we tried to get in and play. Jordan was able to get in on my laptop. But, Katiana and I had problems on my desktop. The whole site would just freeze on Please Wait and then it would log us out. She was not happy. I did get her room partially decorated and fed her poodle. That’s got to be worth something. She wants to play right now but I’m kind of busy here, and this time in the morning before the kids get up is my time for me. Something I don’t get much of. She should be sleeping still. LOL They went to bed late. Pato and I looked at the clock and said, um — it’s 11. Get in bed. LOL She’s back in bed right now, mad at me I’m sure.
Do you guys get sick of my complaining about changing traditions? I’m good with change, really I am. Change a diaper, I’m great! Change my clothes, nothing to it! Change my Christmas tradition – it’s hard for me. LOL Brings a little tear to my eye. So, Thanksgiving was changed this year. Then Christmas was in the library. At least I got them to still find a Chinese restaurant for my dad’s birthday on Christmas Eve, that was a blast! And yummy! Now I’m told, next year – we’ll have chili at my sister’s house for my dad’s birthday. The kids will all open their presents, and that’s it. Next day the families are on their own. No getting together. I said, you know, you’re making it awfully tempting for me to change our tradition and go to Ohio for Christmas now on so he can spend it with his family that is here in the states. Yeah, I don’t think that comment was appreciated.
I mean, isn’t Christmas about spending time with family and friends? And my parents are slowly turning into bah humbug people and cutting out our family time. I’m going to get a lecture if my mom gets on and reads this today. Just my luck I suppose. LOL Maybe next year we can afford to go to Mexico for Christmas! That would be nice! It’s not that I don’t want to go, it’s that we can’t afford to go, and that is something Pato just doesn’t WANT to understand. I know how badly he wants to go. I wish I could just wave a magic wand and we’d have the money to go!
After all the Christmas stuff was done, yesterday we went to Walmart to exchange a gift that Alyce got. She already had one. I got her some sippy cups because she definitely has enough toys. I also grabbed Katiana that digital art studio by Crayola, it was on sale for 40% off and was $30. It’s in the closet now for her birthday in April. I figured I’d get it now on sale vs then at full price. Pato comes up to me with 2 turkeys. HUH? I guess he didn’t get enough turkey the day before. So, last night we had another turkey dinner minus the pumpkin pie. I was not about to make one. LOL He’s so funny.
That’s it from me for now! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!

It’s really hard to change Christmas traditions, but when it’s a forced change, you really appreciate that you had the traditions in the first place. I hope you can talk your parents into keeping things the way they are. The kids will grow up so fast and then you can do your seperate things. Families should all be together.
Glad you found your scrappin mojo. Maybe your designing isn’t far off. I’m hoping to find mine this weekend.
Enjoy your day!
Sounds like you had a wonderful Christmas. Our family is getting away from all the traditions we use to do. All the kids are grown and gone and its just us old people now. hehehe
LOL Sounds like you had your hands full! I know what you mean about the changes though. Part of why we moved back to upstate from LI was to be near family, and then both brothers moved down south & sis moved 20 miles away… I get really lonely sometimes. 20 miles isn’t that far, but it will sometimes be 2-3 months between visits with Nora due to her kids being 10 yrs older than mine and busy with school & activities.
Glad you got some scrapping done, and hope your holiday was great! [hugs]
Change can be a lot of fun! Merry Christmas Heather!
Lovely layouts. You know, you never know the new tradition might just work out okay. And at least the family is still getting together for Christmas Eve. Thats better than the every other year thing that some families end up doing.
Oh Heather, I’m so sorry to hear about all the chaos with the changing traditions. It is kind of sad. It’s sad how we grow up thinking things are one way then when we’re adults and have families of our own things are nothing like we dreamed they would be for us : (
YAY..check you out..a scrappin mama now! lol I remember when my boys were just learning how to open their gifts. *sniff* Time just flies by. *sigh* OK, you go to Mexico next year, I wanna go! lol
great layouts – ya, I know what you mean about the Christmas traditions. They can really mean a lot. But, maybe you can start making some of your own traditions for your own children.
