Poor Jordan

Posted by Heather On November - 27 - 2007

So, he went to school today.  He was only there about an hour when the nurse called.  I was on the phone with his doctor’s nurse at that point and didn’t want to miss what she was saying, so I didn’t check to see who was calling.

Checked my messages, called the nurse.  She was telling me she had already called Pato, who at that point was beeping in to give me the message.

She told me that Jordan had come down to her office.  His arms and back were flaming red and he was itching very badly.  That it would probably be better if he went home.  That there was no way he could concentrate and think with how he was right then.

On the way out the door I called his nurse back and said, can I use something topical?  I thought caladryl would be out of the question because it has some of the same ingredients in it as the medicine he is taking now.  But, yes I can use calamine lotion on him.

So, at the school, I signed a medicine permission sheet.  Then I called Pato and told him we needed baking soda, calamine lotion, and whatever else he could think of.  So, he came home on break all loaded up with anti itch stuff.  LOL

Jordan took a bath in baking soda, he said that helped.  Then when he started to itch, I COVERED him in calamine lotion, he doesn’t agree with being pink, but “Mom, that feels SOOOOO good.”  Finally a little relief.  He might be in the nurse’s office every 5 minutes tomorrow, but a little relief.  LOL

His doctor wants to see him on Thursday if he isn’t getting better by then.  *knock on wood*  Here’s hoping he’s better.

Funny though, when I called the doctor, they told me Jordan already had an appointment.  I said, what?  Oh, wait, it says one year check here.  He’s not one.  Um, no, he’s 9.  But I made Alyce’s one year check when I brought Jordan in on Sunday.  LOL  They scheduled it for Jordan.  Poor kid would have been really mad to have to get all of her vaccines.  ROFL

Til tomorrow!

Cyber Monday!

Posted by Heather On November - 26 - 2007

Happy Cyber Monday!  Boy do we have some good deals going on at PDW this week!  But first, let me tell you about yesterday!

I took Jordan to the doctor yesterday morning because for the last couple of days he’s been covered in a rash.  Well, Saturday it was bad.  The doctor decided it was an allergic reaction to the zithromax that they switched him over to when he had a reaction to the amoxicilan.

Didn’t give him anything.  We left.  Last night, Jordan’s rash broke out BAD.  His cheeks were literally purple.  His stomach, back, arms, and legs were burgandy.  He just looked like he burned.  He was more or less trying to itch his skin off.  I called the pharmacy, who told me to call the my nurse line, who told me to take him to the children’s ER.  So, I did.

They decided the same thing.  Reaction to the zithromax, but they gave him Atarax.  Something stronger than benedryl that might actually give the poor kid some relief.

He also has a note to take to school telling them that he was seen in the ER and that his rash is not contagious.  I could see his teacher or the nurse taking one look at his rash and calling me to come get him.

I let him sleep in today because we were out so late and he is so miserable.  Pato is taking him to school when he goes to work.  Right now, everyone is fighting, which is why I’m late posting this.  The baby is at my feet drinking her apple juice, she won’t leave my side.  It’s going to be another long day, I just have a feeling.

So, how about a sale for you guys!  Cyber Monday is here!  The day the internet stores launch their big specials!  And here is mine:

Yep, you read that right!  Not only are all my products 40% off, but if you buy my Grungy Christmas kit, you get the Blue Christmas one free!  And this is going on all week!  (only at Plain Digital Wrapper)

In fact, all of the PDW designers are doing something special this week!

So, I’m thinking you should really run on over and check out all of the awesome deals!

Have a great Monday!  I’ve got a cranky baby at my feet now to take care of!

Want to See the Cutest Thing?

Posted by Heather On November - 25 - 2007

Katiana, my 3 year old, handed me this today!  Mom, it’s my family!

(She’s my little artist, always drawing something!)

From Left to Right:  Jordan, Katiana, daddy, mommy, and Alyce

Those circles are our belly buttons.  Jordan’s belly button is hanging a tad bit low.  Just so you don’t think she was drawing something else.  ROFL.  That’s not bad for 3 though is it?  Do you see those things around Alyce?  Those are my hands holding her!  She got size proportion right.  (Tallest to smallest)

I don’t know what else to compare her with.  LOL  I couldn’t tell you what Jordan was drawing til this year and he’s almost 9.  He takes after mama.  I can’t draw to save my life.  LOL

I just had to share cuz I thought it was so cute!

Have a great night!

Good Morning!

Posted by Heather On November - 24 - 2007

I think my body has some odd sort of internal alarm clock going on here. Every day that I can sleep in I wake up at 8:14. I’ve noticed that the last few times I was able to sleep in. 8:14. I’d like to sleep until 9 at least. That would be nice.

Oh, I’m getting kisses from Jordan. Over and over. Isn’t he sweet? Yep, he doesn’t want anything. LOL I told him if he picked up the living room for me that I’d let him use my laptop to play with his Webkinz. I emailed one of his friend’s mom and she gave me his friend’s user name so that they could play with each other. Thanks Jan! Speaking of Jan, that was the coolest thing! She emailed me with a problem with one of my scripts. I emailed her back after checking the invoice – like we always did to double check – to let her know that we lived just a couple of blocks from each other. And if she needed help with the script after reinstalling the one I sent her that I’d be happy to come over and help. We got talking and it turns out that she is one of Jordan’s good friend’s mom. How cool is that. *insert singing – it’s a small world after all* Waving at Jan! Yep, we have to do lunch!

Anyone else’s child love Webkinz? They are so much fun! I love to play with Jordan’s. LOL Jordan wants another one for Christmas. But, I’m all shopped out. So, we’ll see what his dad gets him. :o ) Since I do his Christmas shopping, I’m sure it’ll be on the list.

My mom and dad made me cry last night. They are so sweet. My mom called and said, are you home? I said, yes. She said, ok, we’re stopping by with something for Christmas. My dad came up to the door, handed me a check, said Merry Christmas and left. It was the money that they normally give us for Christmas, but really early. (My mom doesn’t do shopping well, she has a mix of 5 herniated/bulging discs in her back and walking hurts. She hasn’t been able to do major Christmas shopping in a couple of years.) So, I’m sending my part off to the CC company to go towards my camera that I put on it. The money that they gave me for this and the money they will give me for my birthday (Yep, it’s coming up – agh! I’m going to be 33!) will take a big chunk off of what I paid for the camera. Thank you mom and dad!

I told them that I was going to go get the kids some clothes, wrap them up and take them out to mom and dad’s house when we go for Christmas. Put them under the tree and they’ll open Grandma and Grandpa’s presents there in front of them. I’m doing clothes because they have enough toys coming from us and Santa.

I was reading a post at DST about what to get a 7/8 year old for Christmas and kind of felt guilty because I didn’t get my kids any books for Christmas. Am I a horrible mom? LOL I promise, they have enough to open a small library. I get them books on Jordan’s book orders every month. There is always such great sales that I get a small stack every month for each of them. So, I’m not bad right? I promise my children do have books. LOL

Did you see what I have over in the side bar now? Doodles has a new blinkie!

Aren’t those fun? He wants a new home! He wants you to snag him! He’s all lonely. LOL

Think I should tell you how much that coupon is for that is in the freebie below? That way if you don’t normally download freebies, you can know if it’s worth it to you? The coupon in the freebie is for 40% off of your total order from my PDW store! Everything over $2.00. I’ll even let you use it on my commercial use stuff!

Also, rather than type out my whole post again from last night, I have a Shutterfly question here about my greeting card for this year. (You can see the card there too!)

Now, I’m off to check on Yen and see if she has had that baby yet! She is getting so close!

Have a great day!

What a day!

Posted by Heather On November - 24 - 2007

I had such a good morning, shopping at the wee crack of dawn.  Do people say that?  Wee crack of dawn?  Heck if I know, it worked at the time.  LOL

Do you know what my children have done all day?  All THREE of them?  Fight, fight, fight, and fight some more!  And do you know who fought the most?  Katiana and Alyce.  Yep, you read right.  My 3 year old and my almost 1 year old.

You see, everything Katiana had, Alyce wanted.  And what Alyce wants, Alyce takes.  Katiana doesn’t seem to think that is right.  I don’t know why.  All I heard all day was crying and screaming, from both girls.

Then Jordan started getting really wierd.  Jittery almost, which is my sign that Jordan is tired.  He gets WIRED when he is tired.  So, at 2 I said, everyone is taking a nap.  Jordan, “I’m not tired!”  5 minutes later, he’s the first one out.  He slept til 7.  Of course, he’s the one who got up at 4 with me to go shopping this morning.  LOL

Want to see the Christmas card I made to send out?  Yes, I know Pato is wearing a stocking hat.  No, I’m not happy about it.  I took it off of his head and he snuck it back on.  He said he had hat head.  I had my mom snap it yesterday because I hate trying to deal with getting the shot lined up, timer, etc.  When you have 3 kids, 2 of them little ones, it’s not an easy task.  LOL

I used my grungy fun Christmas kit to make it:

It’s a tad bit blurry (ok, it’s a lot blurry) because it’s sized down so much to fit on my blog.  (You can click on it to see it full size)  I think I did the 4X8 version of Shutterly cards?  And I used their template.  Now, full sized it’s not blurry at all on my screen.  But, I’m worried because when I saw the preview on Shutterfly’s screen, this is what it looked like too.  Do you think they are going to print like that?  I really hope not.  And the Christmas tree is up a bit to keep it inside the template.  I’m hoping it cuts it off at the bottom.  I put the bottom of the tree right at the template line.  I don’t know, if it looks crappy when I get them, I suppose I’ll just send them back and start over?

Oh, wanna see my new avi at DST?  ROFL  I didn’t put my tree up today – I have an almost 1 year old and a 3 year old - are you crazy?  I’m waiting til there is less time for them to rearrange it for me.  LOL  I did decorate my Avi though.

My hair is in my eye.  LOL  Self Portrait.  Ran my new In The News script on it if you use PSP and like the look.  Not your average black and white.  Has a little pop to it!

Ok, that’s all from me.  I’m going to bed.  I don’t know what wore me out more, getting up at 4 or my children all day.  LOL

P.S.  Scroll down to see pics from Thanksgiving today and find out where the coupon is for this weekend!

P.P.S – or is it P.S.S.  – oh heck if I remember – check out the new monkey blinkies in the sidebar!   Doodles needs a new home.  He’s lonely!  *hint hint*

How long have you been up?

Posted by Heather On November - 23 - 2007

Oh my Lord.  I wasn’t going to go out remember?  Then I found out that Walmart was having a sale on a Lexmark all in one printer for $25.  I’ve been without a printer and a scanner since I got my new computer because my other ones weren’t compatible with Vista.

So, I got up at 4 in the morning.  Pato didn’t get out of bed, I knew he wouldn’t.  Then Jordan got up.  So, Jordan and I went shopping.  We left here at 4:30, stopped at the gas station to get Cappuccino and hot chocolate and off we went.  We hit Walmart where I got my printer, some more presents – like I needed to get anymore!  Pato told Jordan last night that if he and Kat were good at Walmart today that he would grab them each something.  Jordan held me to it.  So, I grabbed him a new gameboy game, Alyce got the chicken dance Elmo, and Kat got a new Barbie Bug (VW).  Woohoo, everyone is happy I guess.  LOL  Then I hit Old Navy because they were supposed to be giving out MP3 players with every  $20 purchase.  But she said, they were gone within minutes of them opening at midnight.  Beautiful!  LOL  But, I got some great deals on clothes for the kids.  Now I’m hoping listening to whining and fighting, though Jordan is being really helpful.

Now for Thanksgiving overload!  LOL  We had a great time.  No, it wasn’t the same, but I dealt.  LOL

Alyce’s first palm tree – I mean pony tail.  LOL

Pato and I – he took this picture of us.

Pato and Alyce – he had hat head – don’t mind him.  LOL

My baby brother, Josh – ok, he’s not such a baby anymore, and his little boy Carter.  Can you believe he is almost 9 months????

My sister, Abby, and her husband, Justin – who I chased after to get a picture until he finally stood still.

Josh’s wife, my Sister in law, Shelley

My mama finally getting there.

My mom and dad

Alyce – Tired baby

Mr Jordan, isn’t he sweet?

Katiana – I love those tights!

Aw!  Pato and Jordan

My niece, Sydney – Steve’s daughter

My brothers – Steve and Josh (no one would let me take a picture knowingly)

Alyce and Carter – tired babies

From Left to Right – Shelley’s Niece, Katiana, Sydney, and my brother Josh’s daughter Taylor.

Self Portrait LOL  – I ran my Soft Sepia script on it.  You can find it in both of my stores.

This is from the other day when I posted it was snowing.

That’s all of em.  Ok, not all, but a lot of them.  Jadah wouldn’t let me near her for a picture.  LOL  So, she’s MIA from my pics.

Alrighty!  If you’re looking for a black Friday savings from me, go to this post here.  Download the freebie, unzip, and there is a good sized coupon that will take off a chunk of change off your total order in my PDW store!  You won’t regret it!  I promise!

Have fun today!

I’m Thankful For You!

Posted by Heather On November - 22 - 2007

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends!  And to all my non-Amercian friends Happy Thursday!  I’m thankful for all of you!  I have a Thanksgiving treat for you at the end of this post!  And don’t just snag it if today is Thanksgiving for you!  You could use them on any layout!

So what are your plans for today?  I just figured out I’m not good with change.  LOL  At least not long standing tradition change.  Every Thanksgiving I go out to my parents’ house at about 10 in the morning and I help my mom cook.  There is mass chaos.  The rest of the family starts trickling in one by one.  My dad helps with the turkey in the house.  My brother Josh makes a turkey in his turkey frier in the garage.  Someone always gets mad at someone else because of the chaos, LOL, but then we sit down to eat and it’s beautiful!  This year my parents got a building to have our dinner in.  They say that our family is getting to big to do it at their house.  It’s my mom and dad, my sister and her husband, my brother Josh, his wife, their two kids, Taylor and Carter, my brother Steve and his girlfriend, his daughter Sydney, and their daughter Jadah, Josh’s wife, Shelley’s dad, brother and his girlfriend, and Pato, me, and our 3 kids.  How is that too many?  LOL  I was pouting on the phone and my mom said I could still come out and help get ready, we’d just load everything up when we are done and take it over to this building.  But it’s not the same!

Yes mom, if you’re reading this, I’m still whining.  I’m sure I’ll be over it by the time dinner gets here, but right now, I’m just feeling a little lost because – I don’t know, it just doesn’t feel the same.  But, I’m still thankful we all are here together this year to celebrate together!  And I love all of you!

What am I thankful for this year?  I’m thankful for my family obviously!  I’m thankful that we have 2 new members in our family this Thanksgiving!  It is Alyce and Carter’s first Thanksgiving!  I’m thankful that we all have our health!  I’m thankful that my family has a roof over our heads, electricity, water, all those things that are essential!  I’m thankful for all the blessings that we have received this year!

Outside of my own little world, I am thankful for our troops and to their families.  They are in my thoughts today.  I’m thankful to our men and women who can’t be with their families today because they are protecting us.  And I’m so thankful to their families who are here supporting them!  Thank you for all you do!

There’s just so much to be thankful for.  I am not wealthy, but I am rich in so many ways.  I have been blessed with 3 wonderful children, who, while they may drive me nuts at times,  are the light of my life, and I am so thankful that God chose me to be their mother.  I have been blessed with a man, who though he has his flaws that I have complained about (he has to put up with mine too!  LOL) loves me, loves our children, and does his best to provide a wonderful home for us.  I know it’s not easy supporting a family in these times as prices rise, but he works so hard so I can stay home with our children.  Something that I have always wanted to do.  Another thing I am Thankful for!

I am thankful for my childrens’ smiles, which is kind of hard to be thankful for when I have 2 of them whining at me right now, but their smiles light up a room and go straight to your heart!

So much, so many things, I couldn’t possibly list them all!

I am thankful for each and everyone of you!  Who come to my blog and follow the story of our lives.  Laughing with us during the fun times and “holding my hand” during the rough times.  I feel like I have a huge group of girlfriends – something I don’t have in my “outside of the internet” life.  So thank you!  And I’ve got a little thank you present today!  Some Thanksgiving word art!

(It isn’t pixilated liked that – it happened when I sized it down for the web.  I promise!)

Inside the zip, you will also find a little coupon to use at my PDW store.  I don’t do this often, but since we are not doing a Black Friday sale at PDW (we are doing something for Cyber Monday), use this coupone in place of a Black Friday sale!  It’s a good one, I promise!  And it’s good through Sunday, so you can use it while you’re out hitting the sales tomorrow!

Please don’t give out the direct download link.  Send your friends to my blog to get the word art for themselves!  Thank you!

Download

Have a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Finally!

Posted by Heather On November - 22 - 2007

1:30 came and went.  I checked my phone to see what time I had called Qwest yesterday.  The whole 24 hour thing they promised.

I called them, I said, “I know it’s only 4 minutes past 1:30, but I was told my internet would be restored in 24 hours.  I just want to know when they will be here.”

I don’t think she meant to say this, but she pulled up my account and said, “Oh God, it’s been rejected.”  I said, WHAT?  Oh nothing, nothing, I can take care of it.  My restoral was rejected?  She said that it was a new system and whoever wrote it up yesterday did it wrong so the system rejected it.  BEAUTIFUL!

Well, with Thanksgiving being tomorrow and Friday being Friday, when can I expect to be back online?  I have a business that I run.

She rewrote the order, got a hold of a manager to approve them doing it today, and then waived that reconnect fee that they were charging me.  At 4:00 my internet came back on.  Remind me not to forget to ever pay a bill one day late again!  Man alive.

This afternoon I spent 3 hours wrapping presents.  The kids’ are all wrapped, my nieces’ and nephew’s are wrapped.  It’s all done.  I’m ready for Christmas.  Ok, not quite ready.  I’m not putting up the tree for a bit.

I wrapped Alyce’s birthday presents too.  Everything is hidden, ready to go.  Woohoo me!

Do you know what Pato just asked me?  Are we going shopping on Friday?  HUH?  Did you not see what I’ve been doing for the last 3 hours?  We’re done.  It’s over.  No more spending money!  Please!  LOL  I think he wants to see what kind of gadgets are out there for him.

Ok, I’m going to go work now.  Just thought I’d share the rest of the day.

Oh, got another.  I was on the phone with my brother who works for the city.  He was spraying the road down with that salt mixture to melt ice and snow.  You know, the one that turns all the cars in the midwest and the north into rust buckets if you don’t wash them constantly?  It is not good to be on the phone with your brother as he’s doing that and hear him say, Oh S**T!  This blankity blankity blank, I gotta go!  I was all worried about him.  He knew I would be.  He called me back.  LOL  Turns out he was trying to turn from the paved road onto the gravel.  There was a snow plow coming up the road, and as Josh turned the wheels, the truck wasn’t going the same way the wheels were turning, and he almost plowed into well, the plow.  He didn’t recommend that I try to get to Walmart earlier, but I did, and I made it, and I only slid 3 times.  Didn’t slide far, just as I was turning the wheel kind of a wheeeeee!  Happened.

Ok, now I’m done.  Have a great night and if you don’t stop by tomorrow, Happy Thanksgiving!

Oh one more – I am going to reschedule the chat.  I just got approved for a little bit ago, and nobody is prepared to be there.   So, I’ll try again next time and hopefully be able to get it approved before the evening of the chat.  LOL
TTYL!

P.S.  Scroll down 2 posts for your freebie today!
