Not Everyone's Mama

You know how some people drink, or gamble, or do several other things when they are down?  I haven’t done this in so long, and I used to have a serious problem with it, but I go shopping.  Yesterday, I was really upset with Pato.  Really upset.  And I planned on going to Target to get Jordan a winter coat.

Bad idea.  Man, my credit card balance is now up $300.  Jordan now has his winter coat.  Kat has a winter coat.  Jordan has snowpants, hat and gloves, Kat has a new hat and gloves.  Jordan needed slippers because today is give drugs the slip day (Red Ribbon week) and if I got Jordan slippers, I had to get Kat slippers, and I couldn’t leave Alyce out.  Well, new slippers led to new pajamas for the 2 oldest. 

I got each of them a little toy (less than $10), got Alyce a baby.  Jordan some YuGiOh cards and Kat the Dora mermaid twin babies.  Then I saw the TMX Elmo I wanted to get Alyce for her birthday, grabbed that.

Then, I’m mad at Pato right, well, I gave him his Christmas present early, because I thought it would be nice to use to send his parents a DVD of the kids for Christmas, it was a camcorder.  I got him a playstation portable for his birthday (Nov 6).  So, then I feel bad that he has no presents under the tree, so I got him to PSP games.  And then I got him a pair of slippers. 

Notice anything?  As me what I got for myself?  A diet pepsi.  Woohoo.  I never buy myself anything.

Time to hide my credit card from myself.  Can’t afford to do that again.  I always leave the store kicking myself.  And this time was no different.  But, if I think about what I could take back, the only things we won’t eventually need is the kids new toys.  Well, and Pato’s extra Christmas presents.  LOL 

Tonight is supposed to be my chat at DST.  But, I’m having trouble getting in.  I’ve emailed Shannon to see if it will be fixed by tonight, but just in case, is there anyone who would let me have their chat at their store?  Please?  With sugar on top?  LOL  If you plan on coming to the chat, check back here before hand and I will let you know where it is going to be at.

My goodness!  I got up this morning, and went outside to grab something, and just about froze!  So, then I come over here to my handy dandy computer and head to our local tv station site to check the temp.

36 degrees!  BRRRR!  4 more degrees and it’s freezing.  I wonder if we hit freezing last night?  All of the grass is covered in frost, so I’m thinking it did, or it was pretty close!

I’m not ready for winter!!!  I’m not.  I want it to stay warm!

Jordan has an issue with the bus driver.  I’m taking him to school today.  She’s always been one of those who are a bit abrasive, kind of harsh.  But, I’ve always supported her when she has had to discipline Jordan.  And she has told me many times how much she appreciates it because – and tell me you don’t know parents like this, many parents just can’t believe their little angels would do something like that.  It must have been another kid.  Their little angel is perfect!  This time, I can’t support her.

I could tell Jordan had run as fast as he could to the house when he started coming to the door, and when he opened it, I looked at his face and said, what’s wrong?  He burst out into tears.  It took a bit for him to calm down and to tell me.  He was sitting with N & A on the bus.  N thought it would be a fun game to bite Jordan & A.  A started biting too.  Now, Jordan swears he didn’t bite.  And usually it may take a couple of stories, but if he’s lying, I can usually get the truth out of him, and 95% of the time, I can tell when Jordan is lying.  He isn’t changing his story.

The bus driver stopped the bus.  And next thing Jordan knew she was in his face telling him to stop it.  The other 2 kids got off the bus.  She didn’t say anything to them.  She gets to our stop, which is the last one, and as Jordan is getting off, she SCREAMED at him.  (I had him show me how she was yelling at him, and she was screaming.)  Jordan, if you pull that again, you’ll be having an assigned seat!  And you’ll be getting your mom called, and the principal!!!  Screaming at him. 

I’m sorry, did I miss the part where you disciplined the other 2 boys who were doing it?  Even if Jordan was involved.  (I’ve never claimed my children were perfect.)  So, let’s say he’s lying to me and he was involved.   Why didn’t the other 2 get in trouble?  And what right does she have to scream at my child?  Nobody yells at my child like that but me, thank you.  And I earned that right by way of a 24 hour labor, 13 hours with pitocin and only 3 of the hours with an epidural. 

I am angry.  I’m going to call the bus barn today and talk to the woman who runs it, but in the mean time, Jordan is not riding the bus.  And he’s a little too happy about that.  LOL  Nothing I like more than getting the girls dressed in winter clothes, and in their car seats, for a 5 minute ride to the school, and a 5 minute ride back.  So much effort for 10 minutes.   We’ll have to find something to do while we are out and about so I feel like I accomplished something.  LOL

They go through tomorrow and that’s it!  You can see previews of them in the store.  They are open, I thought, so many people are complaining about crappy grab bags, I’ll let you see what is in mine, so you can decide up front whether you want to invest the $2.00 or $8.00 in it.

Also, tomorrow night is my ‘celebrate with Heather Manning’ chat at DST!  It is at 8:00 p.m. PST (or 10:00 p.m. CST for me!).  We’ll have fun!  You’ll get this fab set of QPs for coming, and I’m thinking of maybe a template or two to add to the mix!  That will be a surprise if I can get it done!  LOL  We also are going to have fun things to do to give out my dirt kit and my grab bag, AND there is going to be a grand prize give away – you can win ALL of my kits!  How fun is that?  So, I hope you come!

First got to show some pictures from my mom’s house yesterday. I stopped monitoring my store for a few hours, and know what? the world didn’t come to an end like I thought it might. LOL I was scared that all these problems would arise if I stepped away for a bit.

So, we went out to my parents’. I snapped some pics of the kids.

Kat – like her bangs? I cut them myself when we weren’t able to get into the place that cuts the kids hair for 2 days. I was getting frustrated, Jordan’s really needed cut and I wanted it done before school today.

Swingin’ – not quite sure what happened to my drop shadow here or how it ended up on the edges. Whoops! LOL Myst have had it selected.

Jordan’s is blurry cuz I had it set to automatic instead of sports or children playing and he was swinging fast. But, he said, mom, mom, you can’t just put the girls up. You have to put one of me swinging too! So, here he is. With his hair cut I did. LOL

And if you like those frames – you can grab them in my new personal use grab bag through Wednesday. $2.00! The frames will be more that that when I break apart the bag.

I haven’t complained about it, because I was feeling better, but I’m still not 100% from being sick. Going on 2 weeks now. Saturday night I started running a fever again. My ear has still been plugged up. So, mom says, here’s some theraflu. I said, can I take it when I’m nursing? I called the pharmacy. They asked for the active ingredients, and said she’d be fine. So, I took it.

My mom was rolling! Piece of advice. Don’t drink the apple cinnamon. Or maybe it just tasted so bad because my mom forgot to mention until after I drank it that it expired in NOVEMBER of 2003. 2003. Beautiful. Then I really get to looking and it says, night time. Oh crap. LOL

I packed up the kids and drove the 30 minutes home before it really hit me. And when I got home, boy did it hit me. My toes were tingling, my ear was unplugged, my nose was unstuffed, I was sweating through my clothes. LOL I put the girls to bed, and I think I dozed a bit myself. For 4 hours I could hear well. (I’ve been spending the last week saying, I can’t hear you. Speak louder. Katiana, I CAN’T HEAR YOU!) I called Pato and said THERAFLU! Please! LOL So, he brings me home a different formula. Night time though, woohoo! I nursed the baby. Then said, she is all yours til morning, because this one had different active ingredients and I didn’t want to chance nursing her without checking with the pharmacy. Wow, the one that wasn’t expired worked even better than the other one. LOL I could hear, I could hear! It was so nice not to have all this pressure in my ear. And alas, it’s morning, and I’m plugged up and ringing again. Oh well. I took some ibuprofin for my back and my ear and hopefully that’ll due to later. It’s not so much that my ear hurts that there is just pressure in there from all the congestion. And like I’ve said before, I pretty much have to be dying before I go to the doctor. Not quite there yet. I can still walk on my own 2 feet. LOL

Isn’t that exciting??  Well, it is for me!  LOL  Now, I have that out in the open!  I can share a funny little Alyce story.  I knew she was sitting by the clothes basket yesterday.  But, I was working here, doing my finishing touches, she was playing with the other 2.  Everyone was being good.  I started listening to her talk.  And it sounded like she was saying uh-oh over and over again.  So, I turn around and watch.  She took out a sock, dropped it on the floor, uh oh.  Took out another sock, dropped it on the floor, uh – oh.  ROFL  She had the basket almost emptied.  LOL 

I said to her, you pick up those socks right now.  She yelled at me, “Rah??”  LOL  So much fun at 10 months.

Want to know what it is?  I wasn’t planning on telling until tomorrow, because I thought today was my last day, but I saw my products are turned off, so I thought, let’s tell you all today!

Ready?  Are you ready for it?  It’s huge!!!!!

That’s right!  Designs By Heather Manning will be having it’s grand opening tomorrow!  So when you check back tomorrow, I will have links changed, previews for the commercial and personal use grab bags and the new kit!  How exciting! 

I will miss my fellow designers at DSO, but Pato and I decided this was something I needed to do for me.  And I’ll always be able to keep in touch with my fellow designers!  And I hope that you all will stay with me at the new store.

You all are awesome!  I never expected so many people to play my “Name the Monkey” contest!  43 comments so far.  I’ve never had that many people participate in one of my contests.  That just makes me feel good!  So Thank you!  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, the contest is here.

Know what happened last night?  I was sitting here, nursing Alyce, when all of a sudden, the back of my chair went crack and fell backwards.  I just about jumped out of my pants.  The screw that holds the back in place broke.  Or at least that’s the screw I think it was.  It was huge and in the center of a spring.  I don’t know either way, I’m sad.  I am using one of my kitchen chairs right now and it’s just not the same.  (  I can’t move all over – not that I was going far on carpet, but you know what I mean, I can’t get comfortable.  Maybe Pato will love me and get me a new chair today?  Ok, maybe not today, tomorrow? 

Today he has to take some of Jordan’s pants to our seamstress we use.  I got him some new ones, and you know my son.  Takes after his mama in the short category.  Really, I don’t think I’m THAT short now.  5’4″, I’m the tallest female in my family.  LOL  My mama is 5′ and I think my sister is 5’2″.  But, I didn’t put any height on me until high school.  Anyways, he has to do that.  Ever had someone hem up athletic pants?  LOL  It’s got to be possible.  I got him some really cute ones at The Children’s Place on clearance, and they are about a foot too long. 

Want to hear a funny little Katiana story?  This was last night. 

“Mama, can I have my fruit snacks?”

“No, you had one this morning.  One a day, remember?”

“But mama, my tummy is really hungry for fruit snacks, and it told me to tell you that it really wants some.”

“But Katiana, you already had one today.  And besides, your tummy told me that it wants to eat the rest of the chili it you started on for supper that’s still sitting there.”

“No mama, my tummy did not tell you that, it didn’t like your chili.”

“*Gasp!*  But, you told me my chili was even better than grandma’s.”

“It’s not anymore.”

I walked away, 2 minutes later Kat come in carrying her fruit snacks and smiling as she eats them. 

“Daddy said I could have some.”

All proud of herself.  Well, daddy must have missed the earlier conversation where she insulted my chili.  Which, may I say, was actually very good!

And a little Miss Alyce thing.  Last night, Pato was sitting on the floor, and Alyce pulled herself up on him.  She was holding on to his finger and he let go.  She stood there for probably 20 seconds by herself before she fell on her butt.  They did it over and over again, she thought it was such fun!  LOL  Then we figured out that if she has a place to rest her fingers lightly, (ie:  his finger) she can walk.  She was barely touching him as he walked her around the living room.  I told my mom, I’m not ready for her to walk yet.  She said, Um, I don’t think it matters whether your ready or not.  LOL  Then she said, plus it’s not like she’s going to get into anything else walking.  She’s already into everything.  LOL  True, so true.  She just looks to little to be walking.  Kat walked at 11 months, and Alyce isn’t far off that.  She’ll be 11 months on the 2nd of Nov.  So, I guess she’s doing things right on time, but she looks too little I tell you.

Oh what a day already!  I got up late.  So Jordan was rushing to get ready for school.  Usually Alyce sleeps unti about 9 with Pato and I’m able to blog, get some work done, etc.  Not today!  She got up with me today and insists on being held and right now she’s nursing, banging on my keyboard, AND trying to kick over my cup of coffee.  What a multi-tasker, huh?  LOL

I got Katiana dressed to go to the eye doctor yesterday, and she went to the mirror and said, I look so cuh-yute! (cute) Take a picture mommy, take a picture! (I really try to keep my kids modest. It hasn’t worked yet. LOL)

Speaking of the eye doctor yesterday, that started a very long day. In the doctor’s exam room, I had to stand up and hold Alyce through both eye appointments because she wanted to get into EVERYTHING! Jordan had his appointment first, and keeping Kat off of him while this poor doctor was checking his eyes was darn near impossible. But, mama! I want to SEEEEEEEE! Well, darling, that’s what we’re here for. So you can see how well you seeeeee!

Jordan needs stronger glasses. Looks like my little man is starting to take after his mama. He now is supposed to wear them all the time except for in PE and at recess. Good luck to his teacher! No, just kidding.

Katiana – oh what a cute eye appointment. Have you ever seen them check a 3 year old’s eyes? Little pictures. What’s the first one? A duck. Next? A birthday cake. Next – high 5. ROFL It was a hand, but Kat loves to watch the show High 5 and they always show the hand. Cracked the dr up when I explained to her what she meant by high 5.

Then we went to the grocery store. Oh what was I thinking???? Kat wanted her own little shopper’s cart. So, I let her have that. Jordan wanted to sit in the race car cart. I grabbed that one, he got in, buckled Alyce in the top and off we went. The race car cart is a lot more shallow then a regular cart and I had that and Kat’s cart filled in no time.

So, I sent Jordan to get another cart. I should know better, really I should. I filled the second one almost. Half way through the store, Alyce started crying, so I’m carrying her, steering this race car cart with one hand and my body around corners. And this is me talking to the other two. Jordan, Kat, follow me, straight line, Kat don’t run into your brother, Jordan, don’t run into my – I said, don’t run into my heels! Kat, don’t touch anything! No, you can’t put it into your cart, your carts full. Jordan, go get your sister. Jordan, no you can’t have that. UGH! Got up to check out. Just about had a heart attack. I normally spend $220 or less. Holy moly. $300.93. What do you say? Can I put $100 of that back? LOL I got it. I figured we’d use it. That’s for a month. I get the meat (we freeze it), cereal, canned and frozen goods, etc that we would use in the month, and then throughout the month, Pato stops and gets things as we need them. Milk, bread, eggs, juice, my diet mt dew LOL, etc. I refuse to go to the store more than 1 X a month with these rug rats I call my children.

When I got to the check out, they opened a lane just for me. LOL Then, I forgot the double stroller was still in the van. So, I couldn’t do drive up. Here I was, dragging two carts and my kids out. Buckled the girls in. Alyce started screaming. Found the rice cakes, handed one to her. Then spent about 15 minutes rearranging things to get it to all fit in the car.

Got home took the kids in. Got the wagon, made 3 trips and unloaded the car. LOL Put all those away. I couldn’t stick anything else in my cupboards or fridge or freezer if I tried.

Did 5 loads of laundry, washed the dishes, made homemade pizza. Then sat down and said, oh my goodness, I did way too much for my first day of feeling good. Took 2 ibuprofin to get rid of the achy feeling I had. Got up this morning, feel ok. Minus my ear kind of hurting. I took 2 more ibuprofin, dripped a couple of drops of tea tree oil in my ear, stuck in a cotton ball, my ear is numb now. LOL I think it just needs to pop. Yes, FYI! When you can’t get to a dr right away or/ and you avoid going unless you are dying and you have an ear ache – a couple of drops of tea tree oil in your ear numbs the pain. And usually, it doesn’t bother me any more after that. (I use it on the kids too when their ear hurts until I can get them to the dr.)

I agree with what I’ve heard grumblings about. A RAK should happen for no reason, while the other stuff is fun and games! Nothing wrong with those! I do those too! But we will be RAKing this week on top of the fun and games!
