I didn’t get anything ready for Scrap Your Art Out last night like I normally do, so I spent the morning getting that ready and am really late getting my blogging done this morning. Whoops!
Poor Alyce. Do you know what happened to her yesterday? She was playing and then it was quiet. I was working here. I said, where’s the baby? Katiana said, in the bathroom. She said, I’ll go get her. I said, no I’ll get her. I finished typing what I was typing and got up to go get her. Katiana came walking out of the bathroom carrying Alyce under the arm pits facing out. It was like slow motion. I couldn’t get there fast enough. Kat literally, dropped her on her face. It wasn’t an oh, she’s slipping, it was a throw her down and she landed on her face type of thing. Alyce started SCREAMING. I think I was screaming at Kat on my way over to her. Grabbed Alyce, the way she was screaming, I looked at extremities you know? To see if their was any broken bones. I didn’t find anything. I couldn’t figure out why she was screaming still. Til I looked at her face.
She had blood running down from the bridge of her nose. I grabbed a piece of toilet paper to stop the blood. And I was looking around to see what she fell on? Well, the towel rack had fallen down the night before in the bathroom and Pato picked up the piece that attaches it to the wall and stuck it on the back of the toilet to fix when he got home yesterday. One of the kids had thrown it on the floor and Alyce picked it up. When Kat threw her down the back of that sliced the side of her nose. I’m talking less than 1/2 an inch from her eye. I was flipping out. I’m not normally freaked out by blood. I think with it being on my 9 month old, it was different.
I was shaking, and my stomach was rolling, and I called my mom. I couldn’t decide if she needed stitches or not? She said, if the bleeding is slowing down, I’d just watch it.
Think I’d take that at face value? Nope, I called the doctor’s office next. First question, when did she have her last DPT? Hello, she’s 9 months old, when did YOU give it to her? 6 months? They said just to watch it and make sure the bleeding stops. If it doesn’t I was to bring her in.
You should have seen me trying to cut up band aids to stick on it to hold it together. Nothing would stay. I couldn’t find my gauze. So, finally I took some toilet paper, put antibacterial ointment on it, and taped it to her nose. LOL Poor kid.
The bleeding did stop. And it’s deep, but not as deep as I thought it was. Her poor eye was all swollen and purple last night. She was so cranky.
I told Katiana, don’t you EVER pick up that baby. Ever ever ever again. Do you understand me? I don’t think I have ever been that mad at her. I mean seriously with as close as it was to her eye, she could have sliced it instead of her nose. Oh, the thought.
Ok, more pleasant things. I actually got some scrapping done last night. Woohoo!
This is one of Katiana. Credits can be found Here.
And this is Jordan’s. I liked the simple look for this one. Credits can be found here.
I also got the cover done to my shutterfly album that I had a coupon for. It expires soon, so I didn’t have time to do a whole book on 1 kid. I did 5 of them together and then 5 pages of each kid. So with the completion of those 2 pages, I was able to order my book last night! Woohoo! Can’t wait to see it!
And I have a tutorial up on Scrap Your Art Out on changing the color of things in PSP. I’ve got a freebie of flowers up for you to play with while you are doing the tutorial!
So, now that you’ve made it to the end! Run over to Scrap Your Art Out and play!

Wow scary moment for you. Hope that both girls are ok. Have a great weekend- hollar at me if you want – be home all weekend.
**-D.
I think every mother has gone through something like that. My son was out with the chickens and our turkey sliced right below his eye and lip when he was about 4. It took 5 grown people to hold this 35 pound child down to stitch up his lip. I never want to go through that again.
Your layouts are wonderful and I love simple too.
OMG Heather!!! It is definitely a very scary sight to see blood! but to see it on one of your children…OUCH! Been there, done that! My oldest daughter at age 3, while at a gymnatic meet…fell down a flight of steps…didn’t get up, and all I saw was blood! My heart stopped…fortunately a doctor was on site…and handled things, since I was hysterical. Stitches later….she is now grown and given me 3 beautiful granddaughters! Glad everything is ok. Love the layouts, Heather….have a great weekend!
Glad everything worked out okay. I’m sure Katiana just thought she was helping, but it’s still scary, isn’t it?
I’m glad everything worked out fine,Heather! It’s scary alright!
Anyway, I got you something here;

Happy Weekend!
Poor Alyce! I’m so glad it wasn’t her eye! (((Hugs))) to all of you for a very scary day!
I remember when Eve hit Noah in the face with a white Corelle cereal bowl. A big thunk sound and when she pulled it back there was blood everywhere. She had pressed the skin against the type of the eye socket and cut it clean open. We took him to the after hours care where they accidentally glued his eye shut trying to close the wound, then they had to pry it back open. The interesting and hazard adventures in growing up.
