Not Much Today

Posted by Heather On September - 21 - 2007

Really, not a lot going on here today.  Jordan’s doctor got back to me and he has an appointment today at 2:30.  I hope he has some suggestions.

Oh, but I do have a funny!  Jordan got home from school yesterday and fell asleep on the floor in front of the couch.  I was sitting on the couch and next thing I know, Alyce is stepping on Jordan’s face and climbed up on the couch.  Then she sits, looks at me and says, “Hi-Yi!”  ROFL  No manners, if it’s there man, she’s gonna use it.

We have a really wide doorway to the kitchen and I haven’t found a gate yet to go across it.  So, when I’m cooking, I put a few laundry baskets (usually with clothes in them) across the doorway so that she is blocked into the living room.  She’ll climb right over the baskets now, sit in it, then do a nose dive over the side to get into the kitchen to me.  Naughty baby!

Oh, and Wednesday, I was in the bathroom blowing my hair dry.  Pato was with the girls in the living room, so I thought.  I came out to the living room and said, where’s Alyce?  He said, with Katiana.  I said, no she’s not.  He said, check the kitchen.  Nope.  The rest of the doors were shut, so unless she grew a couple of feet, and learned how to operate a handle, she wasn’t in those rooms.  I went to the sliding glass door, the screen was shut, the big glass was open.  Kat has pushed the screen out so many times that even when we fix it it doesn’t take much to pop the screen back out.  I looked, and Alyce had pushed the screen out and was outside on the patio chewing on a rock.  She was so proud of herself.  Big ol’ smile.

All I could think was, what if she would have crawled off of our porch, across the apartment lawn, to the parking lot?  Or worse yet, out into the street.  She would have had to have crawled a long way for that, but I wouldn’t put it past her.  Or on the same level of worseness, what if someone would have taken her if she had crawled off of our patio.  I snatched her up.

Since then, we’ve been using our air conditioner.  It’s so nice outside, but if you think I’m risking that again.  Nope, not gonna happen!

Kristine opened up a new yahoo group for designers to advertise their blog freebies.  Designers and scrappers can join!  FreeStuff4DigiScrappers  It’s to fill the void that left when Bunny closed Blog Freebies.  I’ve been in Kristine’s groups in the past before we were scrappers, and I know Kristine, it’ll be fun!  So, come join us!

Bunny has a yummy recipe called Bug Piles on her blog.  Mmmmm!

Cat has reprised some of her pirate freebies!

Darlene has all the info on the next scrap n chat!  check it out, they are always a blast!

Kim has a frame for you!  And she has the COOLEST layout she did for my book of my challenge.  She is just such a beautiful woman!

And what do I have for you today?  An overlay and a tutorial on how to use masks over at Scrap Your Art Out.  Take that Kristine!  I’ve got a freebie today and you don’t!  pbbblllltttt!  ROFL

My Grab Bag stuff is still on sale for 20% off, so if you didn’t grab the bag, grab the stuff while it is on sale!  My PSP Scripts are also still on sale for 50% off!  Run off to my store now!

Oh, Oh, Oh, remember that article about my cousin I told you I wished I could find?  My mom had a PDF version sent to her by one of my aunts.  You can read it here.

Ok, it started out as not much, but ended up being a lot!

Have a great Friday!

Sounds like the girls will forever be leading you on a merry chase. My niece did the same thing as Alyce, but she’s 2 1/2 and ended up 4 doors down at a new neighbors. My SIL had a heart attack. Said it’s the worse thing she’s ever had happen. Love the overlay. And I got the poison ivy from my lovely dogs most likely. I haven’t been outdoor since Labor Day. lol. Have a great weekend!!!!

Oh Heather, sounds like you have your hands full!! I only had one child and he was a climber too. Couldn’t keep him in his crib very long. I also have a dog that can open dead bolts, so he stays in his dog gage while we go out. hhhhhhmmmmmm…….maybe an idea for kids!!! Just kiddin. Great work on your overlay. Love it.

PPpffffttttttttttttttttt right back atcha babe!!! LOL

  6. It’s amazing how fast the little ones can move, isn’t it? When my daughter was small, she was notorious for sneaking off to her grandparents next door, and leaving me in a panic.

Hi Heather, we have really wide stairs and we had to make our own gate. We could have bought one but they are really hard to find and expensive so we just used some plywood, measured and cut, added hinges and a latch and presto my DD can’t accidentally fall down the stairs if she gets up at night. (she’s cautious enough during the day I don’t worry too much). HTH, have a great weekend!

I know how you feel, chasing around a merry little baby who won’t be still. Jenny is 10 months now, and is climbing up and over everything she can. FUN FUN! Love the overlay!

Thanks for the overlay and the link to the article – it was very well written! :) Nadya has rolled over before, but yesterday she started doing it consistently. She’s also sticking her little rump into the air and trying to crawl – but she hasn’t figured out that it works better if she uses her hands too – else she ends up scooting on her face. :)
I hope the DR is able to help you guys out! Have a great weekend.

[...] has started copying our sounds.  Not our words, but our sounds.  I told you how she climbed on Jordan’s face the other day to get on the couch and said, hi yi!  LOL   Well, the other day, Katiana was on the phone with Pato and she said, [...]
