Do you like my new blog header, do ya?  do ya?  LOL  I can’t fix the blue on the sides, or at least, I don’t know how to edit wordpress’s template to make it purple to match, so we are stuck with it.

Ok on to my story -

Jordan gets up this morning and said, mom, the nurse said you need to get something for my bug bites.

What?  You went to the nurse for a mosquito bite?  Well, it itched, and it was bleeding.  I looked at it, and it might have dripped 3 drops of blood.  And he went to the nurse.  That just irritated me, and I don’t know why.  Maybe I got up irritated.  LOL  Or, Pato would tell you I was born irritated.

You went to the nurse?

Yes, it itched.

You went to the nurse for a mosquito bite?

Did it the mosquito have West Nile Virus?

What?

Jordan, you went to the nurse for a mosquito bite.  Do not go to the nurse unless your puking, hotter than a stove, or your bleeding all over the floor.

But, I was bleeding.

All Over the floor Jordan.

He’s been saying he hates school lately.  Cuz it’s all work, work, work in second grade.  I mean, they phased out a recess, so now he only has 3 recesses in the day.  Oh honey, wait til high school.  LOL  Yep, way to make my kid want to go to school.  LOL  You just wait, in high school, you have so much homework, it doesn’t fit into your book bag!  ROFL no, I didn’t say that.  I’ve been trying to get him to talk to me about why he hates school, but when he says it’s the work, I don’t know what to say, because, I can’t change that for him.  Maybe I’ll talk to his teacher and see if there is any part of the work that he seems to be having trouble with, and help him with that at home.  Yep, I think I’ll do that.

Though, I did email her the other day and see if he was getting his work done in class, because he has trouble with concentrating (ADHD) and that was the biggest challenge for his teacher last year.  And his teacher said yes, that he is getting everything done.  Which, I emailed her back and said, music to my ears!  LOL

He is just so crabby lately.  But, he gave me something to blog about today.  LOL

I have a new beginner tutorial up at Scrap Your Art Out

And with it, you get this:

This quick page was made using parts of the soon to be released (Sept 1) Mega Kit from the designers at DSO, including myself.

So, go on over there to grab it!

Here’s what my final result was:

Think Jordan will mind the pink on his layout?

The photo effect was done using Micheline Martin’s Vintage Script.  It is SOOOO much fun to play with that script!  Love it!

So, head on over, snag the QP, if you don’t know how to use them, do the tutorial.  And be on the look out for new products from me coming soon!  I’ve got some neat things in Spanish that you don’t want to miss if that is a language that you scrap in.  Speaking of which, I’m going to be doing a CT call for a Spanish Speaking Person.  I speak it, but my spelling – ok, my writing in general is atrocious.  And Pato was checking my stuff, but skimmed it, fixed a few things, and uh – didn’t bother to fix all of them til I had the preview made.  Then I had to fix them after they were finished.  What a poo!  So, I need someone who speaks Spanish fluently to proof me and bounce things off of.  If that is you, let me know!

Edited:  Did you know about Blog Day?  I didn’t!  And it’s today!  From the Blog Day Blog:

one long moment on August 31st, bloggers from all over the world will post recommendations of 5 new Blogs, preferably Blogs that are different from their own culture, point of view and attitude. On this day, blog readers will find themselves leaping around and discovering new, unknown Blogs, celebrating the discovery of new people and new bloggers.

So, here are my 5 recommendations -

4.  Heather

5.  Lie

I picked a couple of favorites, a couple of scrapeprs I visit regularly, and a scrapper that I don’t know personally, but have seen her stuff! :o )

Have a great day!

Visiting from the blog train. I like your header ver nice. Totally understand about your son. I have one with ADHD as well too. He is in 5th grade and so far this year have not heard any issues. (Keeping my fingers crossed)

I wonder if he that missing recess time makes the day a drudge instead of a fun learning experience? We all want our kids to be happy and to learn, so I hope you can help him find something that helps!

Good luck on finding a great Spanish c.t. member!

    Thanks for the links, Heather!

  5. Carolyn says:

    Hi Heather,
Your tutorials all seem good and would be good for the people that have that program PSP but for us other people that can’t and don’t have that program..it sucks *LOL* If the kits and freebies aren’t done in PNG files then we can’t enjoy them too… I hope to some day be able to own PS or PSE but until then I just sit here and wish *LOL*
Hope Jordan gets to likeing school better real soon. My son also has ADHD and he is now in 8th grade and has come along wonderfully. Maybe sometime we can email and chat about it.. ;-)

Best of luck with Jordan. I always liked school, I can’t imagine how hard it would be to deal with not liking it all the time.I mean yea I got sick of it (hence no grad school after college, lol), but you know what I mean. And I couldn’t go to the nurse unless threatened with death either, lol.

I am LOVING the looks of that September Mega kit! I can’t wait to see it!!

  7. lisa joy says:

Good luck with Jordan and school.

  8. Emma says:

The freebie looks great and I hope you son doesn’t have to visit the nurse very often! Hope the school issues are better for him soon and he likes school better. My dd went through this but it was in first grade when you no longer had the play time lol.

  9. Mel says:

LOL!! My girls have a bit of a reputation at their school, as serial nurse stalkers!! It’s become embarrassing, they are known by everybody up in the office now that they visit so regularly…LOL! Great new banner, I love it :)

    {{{hugs}}}

  10. beth says:
