Not Everyone's Mama

Last night was wonderful while it lasted!  LOL  Pato’s friend took Jordan and Kat to see the new Harry Potter movie.  I didn’t even think about it being scary because we have all 4 of the other DVDs and both of them love them.  I was talking to Blythe on the phone and she was like, um, you sent Kat to see it?  Ok, probably not the smartest move.  But, being scary wasn’t the problem.  He picked them up at 5:30 and at 7:30 came back in with Katiana.  She was upset.  not cuz the move was scary, but because there were steps leading down into the theatre and she fell on her knees and her hands.  Katiana isn’t good about pain.  The littlest pain while send her screaming.  This high pitch, blood curdling, straight through your eye balls headache pain scream.  Every time.  And when she gets hurt, she wants mommy.  So, she cried for 30 minutes or so.  And they brought her home. 

Jordan was sooooo mad.  Sooo mad.  He’s been dying to see the movie.  I have been too, but I don’t want to take a 7 month old into the theatre unless it’s a kids movie.  I told Omar, do you still have your ticket stubs?  He said, yes.  Well, go back up and see if they will let you in.  Tell them Katiana was hurt, and they should let you back in. 

He was nervous about going back, because his English is very limited – he’s really trying to learn, asks me how to say stuff all the time, but it’s limited.  So, he told Jordan what he wanted him to say about Katiana getting hurt, Jordan told them, and thank goodness, they let them back in.  So, Jordan missed about 30 minutes, but he didn’t care.  He came back all revved up to tell me everything that had happened in the movie!  Sounds like it’s awesome.  I hope I don’t have to wait til it comes out on DVD.  I wanted to see POTC 3 also, but that hasn’t happened.  And so, how it is, when your baby is going through severe separation anxiety and won’t let anyone else hold her but mama, papi, and grandma on occasion.  (And grandma has a very very bad back.  Herniated and bulging discs, on leave from work from falling back in January in their uncleared parking lot.  So, she can’t hold her for long periods of time)

The peaceful night was wonderful though.  Alyce slept for awhile, Katiana watched her Sweet Dreams, Strawberry Shortcake Movie, and then Jordan got home.  And they fought the rest of the night.  I’m talking they fought until 1 in the morning.  I tried to get them to sleep.  They would shut up until I had to do something with the baby and then someone would yell out something to the other one, and it would start all over again.  They even continued it when Pato was home.  He doesn’t have to yell very often, usually getting into his serious tone works, but not last night, man, both kids were in tears when he got done telling them how it was.  So, tell me why my kids listen to him when he just raises his voice, and they don’t listen to me at all?  I’m the disciplinarian.  (He is gone 16 hours a day, 6 days a week with work)  I take away the toys, the games, the tv, the movies, I ground them, I do all the nasty stuff, and they don’t care.  Seriously frustrating.  Ok, if I dwell, I’m just gonna get mad again.  Not gonna do it!  Maybe it’s cuz they are all still fighting the cold.  Yep, I’ll keep telling it to myself.

Oh oh oh oh, you have got to see what one of my most favoritist designers in the world will have in her shop today!  Those who know me, know that 2 of my favorite people in the world that I don’t work with (Gotta say that, cuz I love all my fellow designers at DSO and I think you all are wonderfully talented!) are Blythe Evans and Micheline Martin.  They’re designs are simply DIVINE!
