Look at what is on my porch

May 23rd, 2007

This has been there awhile, but I was just in awe of how well this mommy takes care of her babies.  Of course, I didn’t get my camera out in time.  It was raining and the mommy bird was sitting on the babies with her wings spread out all the way to protect them from the rain.  By the time I had my camera daddy (or maybe it was mommy and daddy was sitting on top of them LOL) had swooped in with a worm and the other moved to let them feed the babies.  So, I missed the protective gesture, but here’s the babies.

See daddy (or mommy) at the top with the worm.

I had to zoom in pretty close because I didn’t want to scare the parent away.  Aren’t they precious?

    precious indeed! How wonderful!
If they are still around, you can put some fresh mealworms out for them, they are really cheap (and clean lol) and hatch into beetles rather than flies ;)
They will love the mealworm treat- I put some in my garden this morning :)

Oh my gosh, that is sooo neat to see on your porch.
