Guess What We Did All Morning?

We got to spend the morning at the doctor’s office. I didn’t get to sleep at all last night and very little the night before. Both girls, sick.

I didn’t think babies could get sick in the beginning because they have all of mom’s immunity until they are like 6 months old or something. The doctor did say that was true, which is why Alyce isn’t as sick as Katiana.

Both girls are so congested, running fevers at night (only at night, wierd kids), and Katiana is complaining about her ear hurting, she sounds horrible when she talks, like she is getting laryngitis or something.

Alyce so far has just a bad cold, saline drops and elevate the head of her bed. Katiana has the same cold and an ear infection. Augmentin. Fun fun. And of course I get the I told you to take them to the doctor yesterday lecture from Pato. Sorry, they acted fine during they day, it’s at night when they get bad.
Seriously, I’d just get laid down and then Alyce would cry and try to nurse, and get mad cuz she couldn’t eat cuz her nose was so stuffy, I pumped a few times cuz she seemed to be able to eat better out of bottle than nursing. Then I’d get her back to sleep and Katiana would start coughing and crying, and I’d get her laid back down and just barely start to fall asleep, and Alyce would start sneezing and coughing and wake herself up. The mad cycle continued on and on all night long. And daddy said, I’ve got to work tomorrow, you can sleep when the girls sleep.

Ok, so Kat took her nap on the way back from the doctor, and won’t go back to sleep. The baby is sleeping in her car seat, but I really don’t feel safe letting a two year old run around the house while I take a much needed nap. So, it looks like I am up til bedtime. And so is the life of a mom.
