My OB called me back yesterday and wanted me to come in before 11. Kat and I got there at 10:30. My dr checked me and I was still dialated at 1. She told me should the contractions start going again, if I progressed they wouldn’t do anything to stop the labor again.

She hooked me up to the non stress test machine for an hour. My contractions increasingly got stronger and were 5 minutes apart again. So, she sent me down to the hospital to be monitored.

AGAIN? I called Jordan’s school and picked him up. Then my mom met me at my place. We drove the kids down to Pato’s work. Pato and I had talked and decided that he’d stay at work earning money and watching the kids until I called him and told him it was time.

By the time my mom and I got to the hospital, my contractions were 3 minutes apart and strong enough I couldn’t talk through them. She said, “Don’t you have that baby in my new car!” LOL

At the hospital they hooked me up to the monitors again, checked for amniotic fluid leaking, checked dialation (still at 1), and did a quicky ultrasound to make sure she is head down. I think the singing worked on Monday. I’m sure that’s when she flipped over.

Ok, so from start to finish, 7 hours of regular strong contractions getting closer and closer together, and they STOPPED. Just stopped. The nurse came down and said, I’m not getting any readings on the contractions, have you had one in awhile? I said, no, they’ve stopped, can I go home? LOL She called the doctor who said as soon as they are as regular and strong as they were when I first came in that I needed to come back. I said, “I”m not coming back until I can’t walk, talk, or breathe anymore.”

She just kind of shrugged and nodded at me, like you’re choice, but I understand. I’ll probably end up having her on the living room floor because I don’t want to go back until I’m sure as can be that she is coming.

You know, I’d really like her to stay in there a few more weeks and get those lungs nice and strong. I was a Hyaline Membrane baby when I was born. I’ve got a scar in the shape of a cross on my chest from the tubes stuck in my chest. I had to be taken by helicopter from Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs, IA to University Hospital in Omaha, NE. And I was born 3 weeks early. I’m still 5 weeks from my due date, and though it’s rare I guess for it to happen after 35 weeks, since I was one of the rarities, I’m nervous about having her too early.

That’s about it for today. I’m going to go work on some scrap freebies for ya’all. Something I can do while sitting down.

Fun Night

I posted yesterday that I was feeling really off last night. I finally called my OB who sent me off to the hospital. By the time I got there I was having full blown contractions every 4minutes. Nice strong ones too.

So, they gave me a shot of Terbutaline to stop the contractions. They stopped for 15 minutes. Then they came back 5 minutes apart but stronger than the first ones. So, I got another shot. Which finally eased them off completely. So, they sent me home. I’ve got an OB appointment at 2 today, but I just called and asked if I could come in earlier cuz the crampiness is coming back again and that’s how it started last night. I’m waiting for the nurse to call me back to see if they can squeeze me in earlier.

They told me the Terbutaline could either stop them for a few days or hold them off completely til my due date. I am hoping the latter. Maybe today I’m just cramping cuz I had contractions for a long time last night. I’m hoping.

New Scrap Page

My latest page. Jordan playing his favorite sport. He was mad at me the other day because I made a page of Katiana playing in the snow and didn’t make one for him. Bad mommy! Must be even Steven around here.

The kit I used was Monti’s England Football kit. I just changed the colors on the background with the balls from red to purple. The template I used was another wonderful won from Amy W at Scraps-A-Lot. She’s got a template challenge going on over there. Check it out!

I can’t decide if I want to keep scrapping right now or if I should go lay down. My neighbor thinks I’m going to have this baby early. I say I’ve been on bedrest too long and am going crazy. I’m having lots of crampiness going on in the bottom of my tummy today, not contractions, just a constant crampy feeling. And I’m really sensitive to everything around me. Poor Pato was cleaning Kat’s room to take out the crib and put her toddler bed in her room (instead of ours). Then he’s going to put the crib in our room. But, everything is now in my living room and I can’t walk through it, and it’s stressing me out. And Jordan isn’t listening to Pato when he tells him to clean his room, and they are fighting. I finally broke down into tears. I couldn’t help it. It’s just too much stimuli for me right now.

Katiana came up to me and said, “who make you cry mommy?” I said, everything but you baby. She’s the only one not stressing me out right now. 5 weeks to go to go, 5 weeks to go, take one down pass it around, 5 weeks to go to go.

Does Anyone Remember…

What it feels like when the baby turns? I am now

Miss thang hasn’t turned yet. Still breach. Katiana was breech until 37 weeks, but it’s been 2 1/2 years since I had her, and I really don’t remember feeling her turn. Maybe she did it in my sleep?

Anyways, yesterday late afternoon I started getting a lot of um, well, more than discomfort in the pelvic area. It felt like she was jamming something into my pelvic bone and you could see something rotating counterclockwise at the top of my stomach also. I never saw it make the full rotation though.

So, I did my research on helping baby turn, and the most amusing one was to have someone take a toilet paper tube and sing into it at the bottom of your stomach. So, I enlisted Jordan and Katiana for the job. Don’t know if it helped, but she sure woke up for it. She bunched herself into a ball on the one side of my stomach, moving and kicking and causing mommy lots of pain. Jordan kept saying, mom are you ok? I’m like KEEP SINGING! LOL

Last night was the most miserable night though. If I hadn’t known what labor felt like I would have gone to the hospital thinking I was in it. Horrible pressure and tightening in the bottom of my stomach. I was up almost all night with it.

Ok, my doctor just called me with the results of my 24 urine test that I did again. At 23 weeks I was at 207 for my protien levels. At 34 weeks I am at 250. She said you are considered to have mild preeclampsia at 300, so I’m develping it, but it hasn’t progressed very far yet. YAY! Then the good news is, they will have me take the test again in 2 weeks. Gee, can I? Nothing like just getting back to sleep, having to go AGAIN, getting up, going to the fridge to get the jug, go to the bathroom, back to the fridge to put the jug away, and getting back to sleep for oh, 45 minutes before it’s time to repeat that process all over again.

And she said that it probably isn’t doing my blood pressure any good to run from outside (I was yelling at my son to come in when my phone rang) into the house, hurdle my kids’ couch, and then answer the phone out of breath. I thought it was the nurse when I told her why I was out of breath, not one of my doctors who would um, chastise me a little for it.

)

Next appointment is on Friday! Let’s pray for low blood pressure.
